This is the disk with my website on, which is in my sketchbook. This also includes the flash gallery which I created.

Website

Home Page

This page is just an introduction to my portfolio, The image that I have used is the poster design for my website, which I had changed to keep a theme colour for throughout my website. Throughout my website each page has a Home, Me, Portfolio and Contacts Page link and each link works. Each page also has a header and a footer.

Me Page

This page, has information about me, like my hobbies to what food I like. This page also includes my logo in a different design. I centered the text to make it look more presentable and readable instead of looking like a book.

Portfolio Page

This page is a link to all of my work. I have created buttons, made to look like paper and also inserted my logo on the buttons, to show that it is my design. I also inserted an image of one of my digital images which I created in illustrator. I made the buttons on the website move to the left and the image to the right because it looks more professional and a more visual site.

Contact Page

For this page I didn't need to do much editing as I only had to insert a png images of my contact details as I wanted the information about me to be in the centre of the page with a white box and a small shadow around the image. This makes the information stand out more than just plain text on the background.

Zen Garden

Zen garden aims to excite, inspire, and encourage participation and aims itself to artists and designers instead of webs designers. On the following webpages the code remains the same, the only thing that has changed is the external .css file. This means that the information on the webpages stays the same but the look of the page changes. CSS allows complete and total control over the style of a hypertext document.

Box Model Hack

A table structure consists of retangualr cells within a rectangle. A CSS box can be thought of as table with only one cell. Such a box can be given borders, transparent margins outside the borders keeps other boxes away, and transparent padding inside the borders keeps the content away from the edges of the box. These can be applied to each side of the box separately. Inside the padding is the content area, which you guessed it, holds the content of the box. If the box has no given dimensions, it is called fluid or liquid. This means that it horizontally fills the container box surrounding it, and expands vertically to enclose whatever content is within it. For the most part, such fluid boxes are quite reliable.

Wolff Olins

Wolff Olins is a company who design for other company's. They have created the famous logo for the London Olympics. They have also worked on website designs for Mercedes-Benz, New York City, and Very.

Good Website

In my sketchbook I have shown a small spider diagram on each of the websites to show there good quality's. I have picked www.play.com and www.deviantart.com for my two good websites.

Bad Website

In my sketchbook I have also shown a small spider diagram on each of my choices for bad websites but on the anotations they show why the sites are bad. I have picked http://www.morrisons.co.uk/ and http://www.amazon.co.uk/ for my two bad websites.

Flash Gallery

I had created a flash gallery using my photography images, unfortunately I came across an unfortunate problem, as I could not upload it to my website. I could not match the coding with the .xml files and the .swf files. You can see the flash file if you run it through flash but you cannot view it on my website. I have burnt the flash file onto disk as an additional file for my website.

Website Update

Over the last few months I have researched and developed different ideas for creating a portfolio website. In the next few post I will show the progression on how the website has developed.

DreamWeaver Website

This is a first test for my website. I have changed the title header image and the text, the image i used was created in photoshop and exported into dreamweaver. I have included my logo on another image which is lowered and centered to make the website look clean and more readable. Further down the site i have included a video which i have created in after effects and small information about this site. To improve the site i will rearrange the site to make it look even easier to use and more efficient with alot more images and information and would look more like a portfolio website.
